East Midlands Trains Saves 800,000 litres of Fuel

East Midlands Trains has saved 800,000 litres of fuel in the last year, by using energy saving technology.

Stagecoach Group who own East Midlands Trains, is investing £11m in a bid to reduce CO2 emissions by 8% and cut annual fleet transport CO2 emissions by 3% by April 2014.
The firm's 27 Meridian trains have been fitted with Energy Saving Mode technology as well as undergoing a £6m refurbishment which involves improving train interiors and increasing available luggage space, which is due to be completed by early 2012.
