official News,Jane Lynch-officially the host of the Emmy Awards

It’s official: Jane Lynch will host this year’s Emmy Awards.
As previously reported, the actress known as Sue Sylvester on “Glee” had been in talks to tackle the high-profile hosting gig.But as the Hollywood Reporter noted, it’s now a done deal.
“Jane was my first–and only–choice as the host for this year’s Primetime Emmys, and I am glad she said ‘yes,’” Emmy producer Mark Burnett said in a statement.

Unlike the Academy Awards — which have aired on ABC for years — the Emmys float from network to network. And the talent chosen tends to reflect the interests of that network. The Emmys will be on Fox this year, hence, the choice of a “Glee” star. Last year, when the television honors were on NBC, Jimmy Fallon was the host.

Lynch, 50, a comedic veteran who has appeared in such films as “The 40-Year-Old Virgin” and “Best in Show,” certainly seems like a solid choice.

“I am tickled pink to be hosting the Primetime Emmys on Fox," Lynch, said in a statement to Us Weekly. "I'm looking forward to singing, dancing and sporting my finest tracksuit."
